Zanadare Completes Resolute’s First BIC!
If there’s a quest of substance, expect Zanadare to be at its forefront. Congratulations Zana on the guild’s first BIC!
Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk Defeated
We returned for Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk and this time he wasn’t prepared for Resolute.
High Priest Nkosi Bakari Defeated–Welcome to Tacvi!
While our Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk attempt didn’t go as planned and wouldn’t reset, earlier we had killed High Priest Nkosi Bakari which allowed for alternative access into Tacvi. See you soon Z’MTZ, we’ll be back…
Gates of Discord Launches… Late!
After several months of raiding LDoN, a very lackluster expansion at best, the long anticipated Gates of Discord expansion was supposed to launch at 5pm ET. It seems once again Daybreak forgot to account for Daylight Savings Time and the expansion opened up an hour late! Late for a very important date, again. It’s #zerkertime!
Resolute experienced much success in the Plane of Time and the only encounter or two to give us any kind of a wake-up call were Tallon and Vallon Zek in Phase 4. Some adjustments were needed to streamline both fights better but we nonetheless got both down which opened the door to killing Phase 5 and Quarm on our first sortie there. Enable #farmstatus.
The Rathe Council Defeated
Definitely the hardest elemental planes encounter. Many guilds failed to kill the council within their allotted expedition time and had to try again the following week. Other guilds had practiced the encounter many times on the Test Server. Resolute? We gave it our best and barely failed our first try. We quickly regrouped and defeated the encounter with lots of time to spare our second ever attempt. Resolute on fire!
Welcome to the Elemental Planes
We finally made it into the Elemental Planes, having missed Superbowl Sunday’s raid day, we were doubly productive on the days we did raid. One step closer to Time!
Solusek Ro Defeated
The final piece of the puzzle to gain full elemental access.
One of the longer encounters, we were glad to finish it and move on. Nothing too challenging.
Terris Thule, Agnarr The Stormlord and Saryrn Defeated
More progression. We miscalculated one of the pre-flags with Saryrn so we had to snipe an open world kill to flag ourselves and get back on track before our Sunday raid. For the first time in the history of Resolute, we actually called an impromptu raid after hours late on a Saturday and about 65 people showed up in force. When the going matters, Resolute shows up!
Aerin’Dar and Lord Mithaniel Marr Defeated
Add two more to the list. Lord Mith Marr was surprisingly pretty rough considering how few AAs/Gear our tanks had but we got him down on first try.
Grummus, Behemoth and Nezmirthafen Defeated
At work on Tier 1 flagging, moving along nicely!
Resolute’s first level 65’s!
This new level cap introduced corpse banking… Prior to expansion launch, certain industrious individuals in other top guilds banked hundreds of corpses, releveled to 60.99 and waited for PoP to go live to then resurrect said corpses and obtain 65 within minutes. Clever, but the technique was frowned upon by Daybreak who subsequently nerfed the technique for future TLPs/Expansions. We did things the oldschool (and right?) way by grinding it out. Rovell and team were the first to hit 65 in guild in about 11-14 hours after launch. Rovell was the first level 65 rogue and arguably the first “legitimate?” level 65 on the server. Resolute’s first 65’s were: Rovell, Bhikkhu, Zlam, Zanadar, Serik and Mellon.
The Planes of Power Launches
Aten Ha Ra Defeated
We ventured in to Vex Thal with 40-keyed members for the first time. With 15 minutes left in the instance, we arrived at Aten Ha Ra. Remembering our first experience in NTOV with Vulak’Aerr poofing all too well, we engaged AHR with a mission and defeated her with minutes to spare to do loot. The next weeks with a full raid force were a lot faster/cleaner and lacking in challenge.
Khati Sha the Twisted Defeated
Ah, finally our first Luclin encounter that was a challenge! This was tuned for higher level content but made it’s way into the game nonetheless. Unfortunately the encounter’s Warders weren’t activating so the encounter, while challenging, wasn’t at it’s full potential. Still a fun fight with good loot.
Shei Vinitras Defeated
Not enough arms to save them.
Grieg Veneficius Defeated
Ol’ Grieg had no chance.
Thought Horror Overfiend Defeated
This is hardly deserving of a footnote…
The Ancients Defeated
The Ancients replaced the Warders after the Sleeper was awakened but we weren’t able to kill them until now because the ST instance was bugged wasn’t working for a while. When we finally got to fight them, it was bittersweet for a lot of people in the guild who missed out on experiencing the Warders.
Resolute’s Legendary 13.5!
Fresh off our first Vulak’Aerr kill after midnight, Rovell gathered our 14 ST key holders and ventured into Sleeper’s Tomb for testing purposes and to see if we could farm some primal weapons. We started with a successful kill of the Master of the Guard. Then, Bolten had to leave so he was boxed the rest of the way by Kushiel. After a successful Progenitor kill, we decided it would be worth fighting to the Warders to see if there was a chance we might be able to kill one. Meanwhile, our activities were being monitored by Grizvok, leader of AOS, who probably didn’t think we’d be able to do much.
By 3am, we had made our way to the Final Arbiter. After two failed attempts (he ran us out of mana), we decided to bypass him and attempt a Warder. To our surprise and amazement, we killed Nanzata, then Tukaarak and finally Hraashna… We couldn’t believe what we had accomplished with so few…
It was now 6am and only Ventani stood between us and releasing The Sleeper. We elected not to engage Ventani because it was open world and we were honoring a server pact Grizvok had championed. Had we not ventured into ST after a full NTOV raid, we would have missed out on the Warders. When the rest of the server heard what Resolute did with 13, a few guilds went with 20+ and that’s when AoS broke their pact by awakening The Sleeper. It was kind of like the 4 minute mile… the moment others heard it was broken… 😉
The Legendary 13.5 were: Bhikkhu, Bolten (the 0.5), Dagnarus, Fragile, HighHealz, Kushiel, Lamissa, Malz (now Zlam), Rinyu, Rivers, Rovell, Saffron, Sera, and Zanadar.
Ah, the North Temple of Veeshan, what a candyland of a place with Vulak’Aerr being the final prize. Our very first foray into NTOV during launch week got us to Vulak’Aerr, but our 6-hour timer ran out and we were booted from the instance before we could engage our prize. We made sure the following week that we improved our efficiency and shaved almost a full hour off the raid and claimed our prize.
Lord Yelinak Defeated
The Lord of Skyshrine was no match for Resolute.
Dain Frostreaver IV Defeated
This little guy has some fight in ’em. Didn’t save him in the end however…
Let the farming of Vulak-caliber quested loot begin!
King Tormax Defeated
The King of Kael dies, but he really isn’t Top Dog in Kael now is he? Let’s be honest…
The Scars of Velious Launches
Velious was both great and terrible… It was great in how epic the encounters were… from Thurgadin to Kael and Skyshrine… from Sleeper’s Tomb to the Temple of Veeshan, the encounters were fantastic. However, outside of raids, other than working on faction, there was nothing to do. No new levels, no AA’s yet.
Veeshan’s Peak Defeated
As quickly as we entered Veeshan’s Peak, we conquered it and all of Kunark in just 29 days. All the prep work competing to complete keys paid off as roughly 6-7 groups of Resolute one-shot every Dragon on the way to a successful first clear. The next clear however, a certain rogue pet caused all kinds of problem on Hoshkar 😉
Resolute’s First Level 60s!
Rovell and a team made up of Alluvin*, Grimwolf, HighHealz, Malz (now Zlam) & Rinyu implemented their plan to level quickly and were rewarded by not only being the first level 60s in the guild, but some of the first level 60s on the server! Rovell hit 60 first in the guild and was the first level 60 rogue on the server.
*Alluvin may or may not have been a part of this group.
Zanador Blitzes to Server 1st Necro Epic!
Classic Defeated In-Era
A guild with very humble beginnings came together, forged friendships, developed raid synergy and attained our ultimate goal of clearing Classic EverQuest in-era! With just two weeks before the launch of Kunark, Resolute defeated the Eye of Veeshan to be one of just 9 guilds to accomplish the feat in-era.
Cazic Thule Defeated
At this point, we’re really starting to find our raiding groove. Synergies are developing and we’re defeating our targets in well-executed fashion. This Plane of Fear raid, however, was interesting… Earlier in the evening we accidentally pulled and defeated Dracoliche before we were ready. Then, the same thing happened with CT… he was accidentally pulled onto the raid and despite folks being afk, low mana, etc, we got him to 0% before wiping… yes 0%! After regrouping and pulling once we were ready, we defeated CT.
Lady Vox Defeated
Let’s be honest… Phinigel Autropos is not a major raid target. However, Lady Vox is! Our first raid on Lady Vox was on 1/3 and it resulted in two attempts and two wipes. We decided to focus on gaining more levels, more gear (Hate/Fear) and just a week later on Lady Vox perished to our raid force on that day’s first attempt!
Our First Raid – Phinigel Defeated
It took just a bit longer than we expected but we managed our first raid against Phinigel with a team of 19 raiders. Interestingly, of those who attended our first raid, 11 are still active raiders of our guild today! They are Alluvin, Captainatrophy, Fdiine, Goodkitty, Hightankz, Kalrie, Rovell, Sera, Zlam, Zach and Zanadar!
We are Resolute!
After many unsuccessful attempts at securing the Valoran name, we opted to change the guild name entirely because <The Valoran Project> wasn’t cutting it. We considered <Valloran>, <Valoran Guild> and a few other variations of the Valoran name. Ultimately, we decided to change directions and opted for <Resolute>. To be resolute is to be admirably purposeful, determined and unwavering, all characteristics that embody our core values perfectly.
Resolute’s First Level 50!
Rovell, rogue and officer of Valoran, was our guild’s first level 50, hitting the mark in a bit less than 10 days after server launch.
Estate of Unrest… Raided?
We may hold the designation as being one of the only guilds on Phinigel to have “raided” Unrest. A few groups of our members descended upon the Estate on this day and rained havoc to every level of the mansion for a few hours.
The Valoran Project… Worst name ever!
At server up, the leaders frantically tried to secure the Valoran name but to no avail. It turns out the name was still being used on a different server and the guild leader of that guild was unreachable. The leaders settled on <The Valoran Project> until they could either secure <Valoran> or choose a new name.
The Phinigel TLP server launched at 5pm and the chaos began! Long queue times, hundreds upon hundreds of players in starter zones; it was glorious!
Valoran is Reborn!
After weeks of planning, Malz (now Zlam), Sera & Juicebox have put the final touches on their new Phinigel guild. Recruiting begins, launch-day preparations are made, and the leaders wait to find out if their old guild name, Valoran, can be used on Phinigel.
