Raid and DKP Guidelines

General Raid Guidelines
  • Look at the Guild MoTD - Raid information will always be posted in the guild message of the day (MoTD or /get). Check the MoTD to see who the raid leader is and our current target.
  • Join the Raid Voice Channel in Discord - Be on Discord during raids, as instruction will be given in Discord (and sometimes also in Raid chat (/rs)). These channels are for the raid leader, officer and others who have raid responsibilities to communicate only. These channels are to be kept clear of all non essential chat except for questions concerning the current target.
  • Mobilize Early - When raids are scheduled, assemble at the designated area 10 minutes prior to raid start. If you are late to raid, then YOU are responsible for finding your way to the raid.
  • Buff Quickly - Buffing must be done quickly without leaving anyone out. Send a tell to the appropriate class if you are missing buff(s).  Decide among others in your class and group whom will cast each buff.  Please be polite and patient as buffing classes will pass out buffs as mana becomes available.
Raid Schedule
  • Thursdays - 8:30pm to 12:00am ET*
  • Sundays - 6pm to 12:00am ET*
NOTE: At the start of new expansions, we also raid officially on Tuesdays (8:30pm ET to 12:00am ET) as-needed until progression is achieved.
*There may be some nights that end up going longer.
Raiding Ranks
  • Raider - Removed as of the start of Call of the Forsaken on 1/29/2020
  • Member - Raiding Member of the Guild that earns DKP
  • Applicant - Raiding rank that earns DKP (30-day raid attendance does not apply), and who may only win an item if no Members bid on that item.
  • Alt/Box - Non-raiding rank that does NOT earn DKP, and who, if allowed to attend an official raid, may only win an item if no Raiders, Members, or Applicants bid on that item.
  • Friends & Family - Non-raiding rank that does NOT earn DKP, and who, if allowed to attend an official raid, may only win an item if no Raiders, Members, Applicants, or Alts/Boxes bid on that item (ONLY if that item is going to rot).
Raid Wait List
At some point you may be asked to join the raid wait list. This happens when the number of raid attendees reaches maximum capacity, and/or when level/class needs change.  If you are on the wait list, you will receive attendance and DKP as long as you:
  • Join the wait list channel: /join resowaitlist and receive confirmation from a DKP Moderator that you have been counted.
  • Stay in the wait list channel at all times while you are on the wait list.
  • Perform any non-raid activities upon officer request (generally reserved for progression purposes).
  • Let the same DKP Moderator know if/when you are leaving the wait list to be removed.
  • Answer a call to arms to join the raid within 5 minutes. If you do not respond to inquiries made by an officer or the person running the wait list, your attendance for all raid checks for the night up to that point will be removed.
  • After an expansion with a level increase has been out for one month, all members attending raids are required to be the maximum level for that expansion to earn attendance and DKP.
NOTE: Those on the wait list will be invited to join the raid in order of class preference for raid needs (NOT in order of first to last joined) as space becomes available.  Failure to comply with the above requirements will result in the loss of your entire DKP earned for the evening.

Raid Wait List Bidding

During progression, wait list bidding is not allowed.

During farm times, while on wait list you may only win an item if you bid equal to or more than 35 dkp. While a person is on the waitlist, they will need to indicate in their tell making a bid that they are on the waitlist. Example: /tell Zanadare 37 dkp, raider, waitlist". Note that while a person has to bid greater than the raider threshold, all other dkp bidding rules stay in effect. So, if the only other bid on the item is 4 dkp, the waitlist bidding person will still win that item for 4 dkp.

All bids by players on the waitlist under 35 will not be considered a valid bid for the item. It is the responsibility of the person on the waitlist to bid above the threshold. If officers do not notice that you are on the waitlist and you bid less than 35 and you are incorrectly awarded the item, a correction will be made to a winner in the raid.

Exceptions to the rule include:
  • if the item has no other bids
  • if you are under 35 dkp you can bid 'all in' (let the loot caller know that you are wait list and bidding all in)

DKP System Overview
<Resolute> uses an Averaged ZeroSum DKP system.  Averaged ZeroSum simply means that the total amount of DKP spent over the course of the night is divided among all of the Members and Applicants who are present in the raid or on the raid wait list for each raid check.

Raid Checks
Raid checks are taken at the following times:
  • Once at the start of the raid,
  • Once at the end of each subsequent hour, and
  • Once at the end of the raid.
The following is an example of the raid checks taken during a regular raid week:
  • Thursdays - Attendance check + DKP at the following times (EST): 8:30pm, 9:30pm, 10:30pm, 11:30pm, and at the end of raid.
  • Sundays - Attendance check + DKP at the following times (EST): 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 8:00pm, 9:00pm, 10:00pm, 11:00pm, and at the end of raid.
NOTE: Loot within each raid hour is added to the beginning of that hour.  If you are not present for an above check, then you will not earn attendance or DKP for that check.  However, if you arrive late you may still bid on and win loot within that same raid hour.  For additional information regarding how raid checks are taken, please see the DKP Instructions thread.

Blind Auctions
Loot is handled and awarded through blind auctions with an attendance factor and a threshold. Blind auctions are a method of awarding loot that allows players to bid an amount of DKP that they believe the item is worth. Bids must be in whole numbers. Bids will be taken from all players at once, and then separated by the Lootmaster according to rank and the established DKP threshold. Loot will be awarded for either the second highest bid or for the threshold amount detailed below.

Bidding Rules
YOU are responsible for knowing your current DKP amount.  This amount will change hourly as you purchase items, as DKP is processed hourly by the DKP moderator(s).
You are allowed to bid up to your maximum DKP on an item.  If you have no DKP or have a negative amount of DKP, then you are still allowed to bid 1 DKP per item. If two or more people bid the same amount on a single item, then the bidder with the highest 30-day raid attendance will win the item.  If two or more people bid the same amount on a single item, and two or more bidders have the same 30-day raid attendance, then the winner will be decided by a roll facilitated by the Lootmaster.

DKP Threshhold
The DKP Threshold was removed as of Call of The Forsaken on 1/28/2020. All members can now bid equally on items, with raid attendance only used for tie breakers as indicated above.

Bidding Format Example
1.  On Thursday night at 8:30pm EST, there are 54 people in the raid.
2.  A raid dump is taken and an event log is entered into the DKP site.
3.  As loot drops, everyone will clear Raid chat.
4.  The Lootmaster(s) will use Raid chat to announce loot, using "1st," "2nd," and "LAST" calls:
             Lootmaster: /rs “Hopebringer 1st"
             Lootmaster: /rs “Hopebringer 2nd"
             Lootmaster: /rs “Hopebringer LAST CALL"
5.  During this time, all players interested in the Hopebringer must send the Lootmaster a tell with the amount of DKP they wish to bid and their rank:
Lootmaster receives 4 tells for the Hopebringer:
             Zlam: /tell Lootmaster “38 Member”
             Fdiine: /tell Lootmaster “40 Member”
             Auesome: /tell Lootmaster “27 Applicant”
             Zanadare: /tell Lootmaster "40 Applicant"
6.  After the LAST CALL is announced, the Lootmaster announces who the winner is and how much DKP they spent:
Lootmaster: /rs "Hopebringer Congrats Fdiine 38 DKP”

This determination was made as both applicant bids are ignored, due to the fact that Members bid on the item (see above for bidding priority. As Fdiine bid 40 on the item, and Zlam bid 38, Fdiine will win the item for 38, which is the amount of the second highest bid.

Additional Notes
  • Please pay attention, as multiple Lootmasters are often auctioning loot at the same time. Be sure to send a tell for the correct item[/color][/b] to the correct Lootmaster.
  • Additional/bonus DKP may also be awarded in certain circumstances at officer discretion. This is mainly geared to encourage everyone to participate on the push through progression nights.

DKP Corrections

YOU are responsible for making sure you receive DKP by checking your own records on the DKP site.  If you are not in the raid when the raid check is taken, and you do not notify a DKP moderator to be added manually, then you will not receive initial attendance or DKP credit for the raid check.  If you do encounter a discrepancy with your DKP, please post your DKP issue/question (including specific date(s)/raid target(s)) in the DKP Discussion forum and it will be addressed by a DKP moderator as soon as possible.

NOTE: DKP correction requests MUST be made within two weeks of the raid date in order for them to be reviewed/corrected.

Tank Class DKP Incentive for Progression Gearing

The following policy will come into effect beginning with the Rain of Fear Expansion, and for that expansion only, applies to the first two tiers (all following expansions it will be Tier 1 armor only, and the rules below apply) and will only apply in expansions where we have more than 1 Tier of armor:

As expansions in Everquest have progressed, the amount of damage bosses can spike in a single round has increased. Due to this, the tank classes (Warrior, Paladin, Shadowknight) continue to become increasingly dependent on gear during progression to be able to successfully complete expansions. As such, we have implemented the following voluntary incentive system for any tank class member that wishes to take advantage of it:

  • This bonus will apply to anyone who is designated as a main in one of the three tank classes (Warrior, Shadowknight or Paladin) at the launch of an expansion.
  • The incentive system is in effect for the first three (3) "clears" of an expansion (i.e. if the first raid of the expansion is on a Sunday, the time period from that Sunday, until 3 full raid Sundays have been exhausted). DKP spent by qualifying tanks on all Tier 1 visible armor pieces (Helmet, Arms, Wrists, Legs, BP, Feet, Gloves) will be tallied. At the end of the incentive period for each expansion, if the below conditions are also met, 50% of the DKP spent on those items will be refunded to the tank in the form of an adjustment.
  • As the goal of this program is to incentivize the tank to gear at the beginning of an expansion, for the tank to achieve the return of DKP, that tank will need to have 250 DKP or less remaining at the end of the incentive period. It does not matter the amount of DKP the tank has outstanding at the beginning of the incentive period, so long as they are below 250 at the conclusion of it.

Example 1:

Aethelred decides that he dies too much and wants to get some gear to try and rectify that (Don't worry, he will still die even with the gear).

At the launch of the expansion, Aethelred has 450 DKP. Even though he is above 250, he can still avail himself of the incentive, so long as he is below 250 before the end of the period.

Aethelred purchases the following Tier 1 visible slot pieces:

  • Helmet: 60 DKP
  • Gloves: 80 DKP
  • BP: 120 DKP
  • Arms: 120 DKP
  • Wrist: 40 DKP

At the end of the incentive period, Aethelred is at 75% raid attendance and the raider rank. However, he has 260 DKP remaining (as he earned dkp back during the period). Due to the fact that he is NOT below 250 DKP, he does not receive any DKP back, and will have paid full price for the armor above.

Example 2:

Same facts as above. However, Aethelred also purchases the following non-visible pieces:

  • Ear: 40 DKP
  • Ring (he put a ring on it): 50 DKP

Due to this, Aethelred ends the incentive period with 170 DKP (and is still 75% raid attendance). As he is now below the 250 Threshold, he will earn the DKP back on the Visible Tier 1 Armor. This means that his adjustment will be computed as follows:

  • Helmet: 50% of 60 DKP= 30 DKP
  • Gloves: 50% of 80 DKP= 40 DKP
  • BP: 50% of 120 DKP= 60 DKP
  • Arms: 50% of 120 DKP= 60 DKP
  • Wrist: 50% of 40 DKP= 20 DKP
  • Ear: 0 DKP Adjustment (Not Tier 1 visible)
  • Ring: 0 DKP Adjustment (Not Tier 1 visible)

Total Bonus: 210 DKP. Aethelred will receive 210 DKP as an adjustment to his outstanding DKP at the end of the incentive period.

The goal of this incentive is to make sure the guild continues to progress at a steady pace. Any questions should be referred to officers in game.

DKP Penalty for Overbidding

YOU are responsible for knowing how much DKP you have at any given time, and to only bid up to that number.  In the event that you go negative by winning an item through overbidding a DKP amount that you do not have at the time of the bid, you will be charged a flat -25 DKP penalty.

DKP Penalty for Opening Loot Chests Without Authorization

Part of being in a raiding guild is being considerate of your other guild members. When a encounter is beaten, part of the process of recovering is bringing back those who died during the encounter, as well as organizing corpses. Having a loot chest opened before recovery is completed can cause issues with people who will need to then find the chest to access the loot, and can slow raids down. Unless you are an officer, or have been told by an officer to do so, you should not be opening a loot chest after an encounter is completed. If you ignore this and choose to open a chest anyway, you will be charged a flat -100 DKP penalty. If this penalty causes your DKP to go negative, you will be further assessed the negative DKP penalty above.

DKP Decay

Characters drop off of the DKP Site after 30 days of inactivity.  At this time, your character will be moved to Friends & Family status until you resume raiding.  Please see below for details:
  • If you do not attend a raid in 30 consecutive days, your DKP will be reduced by 67.09 DKP*.
  • If you do not attend a raid in 60 consecutive days, your DKP will be reduced by an additional 96.21 DKP*.
  • If you do not attend a raid in 90 consecutive days, your DKP will be reduced to 0 and your character and user account will be removed from the DKP site.  This will forfeit all attendance history as well as DKP.
  • If your DKP is ever reduced to a negative amount due to DKP decay, your character and user account will be removed from the DKP site. This will forfeit all attendance history as well as DKP.
If you announce that you are taking a break from the game:
  • Your main character will be moved to the Friends & Family rank,
  • Your DKP character will be tagged as "inactive" (it will no longer show up on the DKP site), and
  • Your DKP will be subject to the above decay.
  • If you announce your return, your ability to have a raid slot will be subject to re-review based on current Class Needs.  If a raid slot is available per officer approval:
    • You will be able to resume raiding at a Member rank once you have met the following requirements:
      • Your main character is Level 75,
      • Your main character has 700+ AA's, and
      • Your main character is keyed for current raiding content.
    • If you are main switching, you must also post in the Main Switch Requests forum and abide by all main switch rules, including additional officer approval.
      • If you have 0 DKP upon returning, the main switch cost will be waived so that you do not go negative.
If you announce that you are leaving the game and you sell your main character, or if you leave the guild without notice:
  • Your DKP will be immediately reduced to 0, and
  • Your character and user account will be removed from the DKP site.  This will forfeit all attendance history as well as DKP.
  • If you announce your return, your application will be subject to re-review.
    • If you are allowed to return per officer approval, you will return at a Member rank with 0 DKP.
*DKP decay values are calculated at the beginning of each expansion by determining the first quartile (25% of DKP average) for 30-day decay, and the second quartile (50% of DKP average) for the 60-day decay.

NOTE: It is generally noticed when one logs in every ~30 days to avoid the DKP Decay.  If this becomes a trend, DKP will be decayed at officer discretion.

Maintaining maximum level for current content.

The following policy will come into effect beginning with the Seeds of Destruction expansion (January 2, 2019):

In order to maintain a highly successful raid force which is able to tackle new progression and raid content in an effective and efficient manner, it is necessary to have raiders obtain maximum level, and maintain maximum level throughout the raid, for the expansion in a timely manner. As such for all level-increase expansions, raiders will be expected to obtain the maximum level for that expansion by the beginning of the 4th Sunday normal raid time (6 p.m. EST) to attend raids and receive attendance checks/dkp (for administrative purposes, this policy will be enforced even if the Sunday raid is not held, but missed attendance/dkp would not occur until the next held official raid. E.g. if the 4th Sunday falls on a holiday and official raids are canceled). If maximum level is not obtained by this time, we encourage you to use raid time to seek out experience groups and obtain the maximum level as quickly as possible.

Distinction between Raiding member of Guild and FnF Member of Guild

The following policy will come into effect beginning with the Seeds of Destruction expansion (January 2, 2019):

Resolute remains committed to our family-friendly raiding tenets, but also feel that for a raid force to be successful a certain level of commitment to fellow members of the guild is needed. We are understanding of any issues members have, and encourage all members to discuss with leadership concerns or changes that may affect their attendance.

In order to maintain Member status, an individual must be present and receive credit for at least 25% of the raid checks in a 90 day period (i.e. maintain a minimum attendance of 25% throughout that time). If a member falls below 25% or anticipates falling below 25%, that member should discuss with leadership the reason why attendance cannot be maintained to come up with the most mutually beneficial solution going forward (i.e. is this a temporary decrease in attendance due to extenuating circumstances or permanent change due to change in work schedule or other reasons).

Non-communication of an issue with raid attendance will result in an automatic change to Friends and Family status. Subsequent reapplication to the raid force is welcomed and encouraged, pursuant to raid force mix and requirements, and if the member feels they can maintain the required attendance at that point.
